Today (1 October 2026), Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat Deepor, Deputy Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, stated that General Pol. Gen. Samran Nualnma Chief of the Royal Thai Police is concerned about the physical and mental health of flood victims who may be experiencing illness, exhaustion, or stress. Consequently, he ordered the Police General Hospital to deploy a medical team comprising physicians, nurses, internists, psychiatrists, and patient transfer specialists to flood-affected areas where residents are facing hardship and potential health risks. The team is also prepared to provide emergency medical assistance to patients, the elderly, and others in need.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat noted that while Pol. Gen. Samran was visiting the Kheha Rom Klao community where floodwaters remained high to assist victims on September 28, 2026, he encountered an 81-year-old woman suffering from heart disease. She was exhausted and weak, trapped inside her home, which was surrounded by floodwaters. Consequently, an urgent order was issued for the Police General Hospital medical team stationed at the Rom Klao Police Station shelter to provide immediate assistance. Subsequently, Rom Klao police officers led by Superintendent Pol. Col. Natchapisit Siangwan and the medical team led by Pol. Capt. (Female) Natticha Saowathanapong waded through floodwaters to assess the patient's condition. Upon finding low oxygen levels, they determined that immediate hospital transport was necessary. The joint team from the Police General Hospital and Rom Klao Police Station then rushed the patient to Nakharaphiban Hospital (Lat Krabang) for treatment, ensuring their safe arrival.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat stated that this incident serves as a prime example of effective assistance. The Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police has instructed officers assisting flood-affected communities to remain vigilant; if they encounter patients or individuals at risk, they must promptly coordinate with medical units to ensure timely care. Furthermore, officers have been ordered to strictly safeguard the lives and property of the public, preventing crimes such as theft that could further exacerbate the hardships faced by the people.
