Today (2 October 2026), Mr. Chuan Leekpai a Democrat Party list MP and former Prime Minister visited flood-affected areas in Moo 4 and Moo 5, Ban Phai Khwang, Khao Phra Ngam Subdistrict, Mueang District, Lopburi Province. He was accompanied by Ms. Phongsri Tharaphum (Party Executive Committee member), Ms. Siripa Intavichean (Deputy Party Spokesperson), and their team. The area is suffering severe impacts from water overflowing the Chai Nat-Pa Sak Canal, resulting in prolonged flooding and the onset of foul odors from stagnant water.

During the visit, Mr. Chuan and his team distributed relief bags to alleviate the victims' immediate hardships and joined volunteers in treating the stagnant water. Local residents greeted the group, thanked the Democrat team, and voiced their grievances and requests for urgent government intervention. Mr. Chuan personally listened to every issue and promised to relay these concerns to the House of Representatives to seek further assistance.

After the visit, Mr. Chuan stated that the feedback from the public was consistent: they want the government and relevant agencies to urgently resolve the prolonged flooding problem. Amidst concerns that disease outbreaks could exacerbate the suffering, villagers are in urgent need of medicines and medical supplies specifically treatments for immersion foot (trench foot) and wound care kits. Additionally, significant damage to agricultural land has been reported.

“Government agencies and volunteers are currently working at full capacity to manage the situation. I would like to offer my moral support to both the flood victims and the personnel on the ground, and I sincerely hope that the flood situation will soon return to normal,” Mr. Chuan said.
