US President Donald Trump told the Financial Times that the US would be considering seizing Iranian oil resources, including Kharg Island, Iran's most important oil export hub. The US intends to clearly control the oil industry following the ouster of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January.

Furthermore, attacking and seizing Kharg Island, a major oil export center, carries high risks, potentially increasing US military and budget expenditures, and prolonging a potential US-Israeli-Iran war.

“Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have many options," Trump said.

When asked about Iran's defenses, Trump responded, "I don’t think they have any defense. We could take it very easily.” Previously, the US launched airstrikes on Kharg Island after identifying them as military targets. Meanwhile, Iran announced that it would start a ground offensive against Arab countries in the Persian Gulf, as well as a new offensive if US forces landed on Iranian territory. On Friday, March 27, the United States ordered the deployment of more than 10,000 troops to seize control of the Middle East, with around 3,500 troops, including 2,200 Marines, on their way to reinforce them.
