Today (8 Feb), at polling station 54, located in the parking lot of UCI Media Co., Ltd., in front of Beverly Hills Village, Thung Song Hong Subdistrict, Bangkok, Mr. Amarin Jarutamara, the Director of Lak Si District, stated that there are two polling stations in this area: stations 53 and 54 in Bangkok's Constituency 8. Station 53 is for military personnel, with approximately 1000 voters, while station 54 has 631 voters. Officials prepared the venue and received ballot boxes since 5 AM and brought them here. With security personnel on hand to supervise.
Mr. Amarin added that most people understood because there had been prior public announcements that after the election, they should present themselves again to receive their referendum ballots, and this would be done within the same polling station. Regarding the queuing of conscripted soldiers, there was no problem because polling station 53 was exclusively for soldiers. Citizens were at polling station 54, so there were no issues with waiting in line. Next time, they will coordinate with the military units to have them arrive in staggered numbers, not all at once, and may add another polling station for soldiers because there are so many of them.
