Today (23 Feb) 10:35 am at the Royal Thai Air Force Headquarters, General Natthaphol Nakpanich, Minister of Defence, gave an interview regarding his work in the final months before the formation of a new government. He stated that he will continue working for the full two months of his term. Currently, no one has approached him for discussions, and he declined to give details, preferring to complete his term.
When asked about outstanding tasks, General Natthaphol replied that there are none, as everything is being gradually processed. He added that the Defence Council meeting emphasized the Thai armed forces' role as the cornerstone of national security. He also suggested that the military commanders should broaden their thinking beyond a single military perspective, which has been lacking in the past. He emphasized a holistic approach, not just focusing on military matters, including foreign affairs, international politics, socio-psychology, and economics. Therefore, he urged the military commanders to consider this framework. He requested that during National Security Council meetings, the military commanders present their ideas on various aspects. He clarified that he wasn't claiming to be superior to his subordinates, as they are all highly skilled, but rather that his prior experience in the National Security Council, the government, and Parliament gave him more information on what should be done and allowed him to offer his suggestions.

When asked if his three-four-month tenure as Minister of Defense was the end of his term, General Natthaphol replied that he didn't want to answer whether it was the end or not. He stated that they had done their best with the time they had. He noted that in all his past positions, one shouldn't think about having more time or doing better, but rather about making the most of the time available. He believed he had done his best within the given time. Regarding whether he would continue in his role, he declined to comment.
