Today (24 Feb) 1:17 PM at the Palang Pracharath Party headquarters, Ms. Treenuch Thianthong, Minister of Labour and leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, stated before the party's executive committee meeting that the meeting was held because General Prawit Wongsuwan had resigned as party leader 60 days prior. According to party law, a general assembly meeting was required, and the executive committee was convened to prepare for this meeting next month.
Regarding the formation of the government, Ms. Treenuch said that they had not yet discussed the details of joining the government and must wait for the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) to certify the results.
When asked further if the Palang Pracharath Party had any conditions for joining the government, Ms. Treenuch replied that there were none, but initial negotiations had taken place, though not in detail. However, she reiterated her initial stance of being ready to join the government of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, emphasizing that the party prioritizes the voice of the people. Since the Bhumjaithai Party received the most votes, it must be the leading party in forming the government, a position they firmly uphold.

When asked again about the extent of bargaining power for ministerial positions with the Palang Pracharath Party's five MPs, Ms. Treenuch stated that this depends on the larger parties, but they have had some initial discussions. Beyond that, she said they would wait for the Election Commission to certify the results.
Regarding whether the Palang Pracharath Party has closed the door on negotiations with other parties following rumors of a potential rival government formation with the Bhumjaithai Party, Ms. Treenuch said that they must respect the party first.
Concerning the call from Palang Pracharath Party candidates for General Prawit's return due to the party's lack of direction and the leader's failure to campaign, Ms. Treenuch said that while there may be much discussion, the party has always maintained its stance. During this limited and transitional period, the party has its policies, although campaigning may not have been as thorough. However, she believes that everyone who has committed to working with the party is committed to it. We had discussions before registering as candidates and had a clear ideology, but there may be some who don't understand.
