Today (5 March) 9:45 AM at the Parliament, Mr. Chaichana Dechdecho, a list MP of the Democrat Party, gave an interview after reporting to the Office of the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives. He stated that the registration for constituency MPs was already scheduled for today, while list MPs will register on March 6th. He affirmed that despite registering separately, the Democratic Party is united. He said, "We have 21 votes. Whatever the party leader decides, we are ready to follow. Don't view every issue as a political ploy. Why are we not registering together? We work as a team and are united as the Democrat Party."

When asked if the earlier registration suggested any secret deal, Mr. Chaichana firmly denied any such deal. He stated that everything was discussed openly and decided by party resolution. Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, a list MP and leader of the Democrat Party, previously stated that 60% of the party's votes, over 2 million, came from the South. He emphasized that all MPs are elected by the people and that it's necessary to ask voters in their respective areas for their opinions. He noted that most people in Nakhon Si Thammarat who commented on his Facebook post supported joining the government. However, he personally believes his decision depends on the party's stance, which must be decided by the MPs and the party's executive committee. Joining the government requires an invitation from the leading party in the coalition, which hasn't happened yet.
When asked if having public support for joining the government but a different party stance would be considered going against the party's decision, Mr. Chaichana stated that defying the party's decision is impossible. Joining the government requires an invitation from the leading party in the coalition; they can't just join arbitrarily. He mentioned that the party leader has outlined three conditions for the Democrat Party; if those conditions are met, then a decision on whether to join or not will be considered.
Regarding whether the Democrat Party's 21 votes will be unified in their stance, regardless of whether they elect the Speaker of the House of Representatives or the Prime Minister, Mr. Chaichana affirmed that there is no reason to go in any other direction. We must move in the same direction, and the 21 votes of the Democrat Party must be used to drive policies in Parliament, whether it's disability allowances, home repairs for the disabled, free education, or others. I confirm that everything is 100% unified.
Regarding whether the Democrat Party is ready to fully scrutinize the government if it becomes the opposition, Mr. Chaichana said, "We have been in both opposition and government before, and we are ready to work on both sides. We will do our 100%. So there's no need to worry. On the day the party leader brings the list of MPs to report, the constituency MPs will return to their constituencies. If I'm not busy, I will definitely come with the party leader."
