Today (31 March 2026) at 4:40 PM at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, MP for Ubon Ratchathani and spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, announced the results of the weekly party meeting. She stated that before the parliamentary session this week, there will be no legislative matters. The focus will be on issues concerning the public and motions submitted by MPs from various parties to the Speaker of the House, as well as addressing the hardships faced by the people in all areas. This includes addressing global crises that are interconnected; even conflicts in the Middle East affect all countries. They listened to the problems raised by the 192 MPs and reflected these issues through discussions with the public in their constituencies. They will then plan their actions going forward. Initially, the executive branch, or the Cabinet, and Members of Parliament (MPs) will coordinate and urgently resolve the problems of the people. Besides parliamentary days, Bhumjaithai Party MPs will also be out in their constituencies to meet with the public, understand their problems, and bring this information to the executive branch as quickly as possible.

Ms. Nan continued, "In addition, the meeting discussed many issues, not just oil prices, because many things are starting to increase due to current conditions. We receive feedback, but we won't only receive praise. As politicians, we must accept criticism, but criticism comes with advice. We accept it and try to convey the problems to the executive branch as quickly as possible. Regarding preparations on the parliamentary side, the Bhumjaithai Party has allocated MPs for various tasks in parliament, including legal matters or those with interests or expertise in specific areas. There will be discussions about future standing committees. This week is for preparation, including for the new MPs, who will need to seriously present their policies. This involves coordinated work between the parliamentary and executive branches, as well as preparations for the Bhumjaithai Party's anniversary on 6 April 2026."

When asked by reporters about the guidelines given by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul at the meeting, given that the royal appointments have been made today, Ms. Nan replied, "This was an initial discussion regarding coordination, instructing MPs to resolve various issues as quickly as possible, including similar tasks within ministries. MPs who interact with the public must directly coordinate all issues with the new ministers. As for the prospective ministers, they can immediately report any issues without waiting for a formal agenda item or explanation."

When asked again whether the Prime Minister had given any guidance, given the presence of several new ministers, Ms. Nan stated that there haven't been any detailed discussions yet. They've only been discussing the overall picture, focusing on MPs and prospective executives, and how to respond to the public's problems as quickly as possible.

Furthermore, on 6 April 2026, the Bhumjaithai Party will hold its usual merit-making ceremony. The party will lay wreaths at the monument of King Rama I. Please wait for the official schedule. Afterward, Bhumjaithai MPs will return to the party headquarters for the merit-making ceremony and a party meeting to prepare for the session next week.
