Today (1 April) 10:00 AM at the Parliament, Mr. Parit Wacharasindhu, a list MP and spokesperson for the People's Party, gave an interview regarding the composition of the new Cabinet of the government of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul. He stated that now that the new cabinet is clearly formed and will be announcing its policies to begin its duties, the public expects the new cabinet to start working immediately. This is because, in addition to long-standing problems such as the country's competitiveness, education issues, and corruption—which were heavily discussed in election policy presentations—there is now an immediate crisis: the energy sector, which affects the livelihoods of the people.
“I think what the public expects most is that the new Cabinet will immediately move forward in solving the people's problems. There won't be time for a honeymoon period,” Mr. Parit said.
Mr. Parit further expressed his serious concern regarding the Songkran festival, a time of significant economic and psychological impact on the public. He hopes the government will provide clarity on how to facilitate the public, for example, by establishing a transparent information system to ensure there will be no fuel shortages and clarifying where fuel can be purchased. This includes facilitating public transportation for people who want to travel back to their provinces, as well as ensuring safety on the roads.
