Today (16 April 2026) 10:00 AM at Government House, the government spokesperson team, led by Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, along with Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, deputy spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, and Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, incoming deputy spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, gave an interview after offering flower garlands to receive blessings from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who is also the minister of interior, before beginning their work as the government spokesperson team. They stated that the role of government spokespersons in this era will be one of full dedication to their work. The Prime Minister gave them advice on the importance of complete communication and information from all sides, particularly in the current situation. It is essential to explain the rationale behind various measures, especially those undertaken by the government, to the public. This is a key priority, and it is impartial to listen to public feedback to ensure comprehensive communication. It is crucial to prioritize the public's feelings and expectations and present only factual information to facilitate effective communication between the government and the public.

When asked about the division of political and information roles within the government, Ms. Rachada stated that all aspects must be considered, but she did not want the public to perceive the team as engaging in retaliatory counter-arguments. She emphasized that in the social media era, information is multifaceted, and clarification is necessary for effective communication. She stressed that the spokesperson team is committed to making the Thai Khu Fah platform a reliable source of accurate information. Therefore, some adjustments have already been made, including using simpler language, reducing formality, prioritizing timely and relevant content, and incorporating more graphics to break away from decades-old formality and adapt to a changing society. Consequently, the work of the Spokesperson's Office and its communication methods will need to adapt. "This has already been done today," Ms. Rachada said. She added that the government spokesperson team will primarily disseminate information through the Thai Khu Fah Facebook page, aiming to make it well-known and a reliable source of information, especially during this era of numerous rumors. This will allow the public to know the truth about government-related news. The Thai Khu Fah page will be the main channel for communicating accurate information to the public. Regarding the work theme, she said they haven't decided yet, but their guiding principle will be straightforwardness and completeness to ensure public understanding.

When asked if she was concerned about the use of information operations (IO) to attack the government, Ms. Rachada said she isn't afraid of that but is aware that being in this position, she doesn't expect praise or likes, which is impossible, but she will do her best.

Ms. Rachada further stated that for the deputy government spokesperson positions, the team has individual strengths. For example, she considers herself the senior figure with extensive experience. Ms. Lalida is proficient in Chinese, a significant advantage, as it allows for communication of government actions to Chinese-speaking citizens. Ms. Ploytale is fluent in English and will assist in communicating international affairs. The current spokesperson team intends to communicate not only with the Thai people but also with the international community. Regarding the government's measures and policies in crisis situations, what are the short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategies to ensure accurate understanding?

Ms. Lalida stated that, having experienced this before, she assures that this time the approach will be more rigorous. She will apply the lessons learned from the previous crisis to the spokesperson team this time and strive to improve the overall government communication.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ploytalee said that, as a young person, after receiving guidance from the prime minister, she will communicate government work in a way that is easily understood by younger generations, especially in a world with so much fake news. Communicating factual information about the government to young people is a key goal. She will utilize all channels, including her personal page and the Thai Khu Fah page, to provide accurate and easily understandable information for the younger generation.
