Today (April 22, 2026) at 10:00 AM at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul chaired a meeting to consider the 2027 fiscal year budget framework with four key agencies: the Budget Bureau, the Ministry of Finance, the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC), and the Bank of Thailand, along with related agencies.
Before the meeting, Mr. Anutin stated that the consideration of the 2027 budget framework aims to determine budget policy, revenue estimation, expenditure allocation, budget deficit compensation, and the government's fiscal status at least three years in advance. The objective of this review is to enable the implementation of key government policies amidst high global volatility, particularly conflicts in the Middle East, which directly impact energy security and Thailand's economy.

Mr. Anutin further stated that the government needs to increase efficiency—using fewer resources to achieve maximum results. This has led to significantly tighter constraints on the 2027 budget. To maintain fiscal discipline, economic stability, and fiscal strength, it is necessary to adjust the budget framework to align with the current situation and optimize budget management.
Mr. Anutin added that he recently briefed government agencies on the 2027 budget guidelines at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani and requested all agencies to review their preparations accordingly. He emphasized that all operations must adhere to the Budget Bureau's timeline so that the draft budget can be submitted to Parliament, passed into law, and promulgated by the first day of the 2027 fiscal year.
