Today (April 23, 2026) at 9:15 AM at Government House, Lieutenant General Norathip Poynok, Commander of the 4th Army Region, stated after meeting with Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul at Thai Khu Fah Building before the National Security Council (NSC) meeting to report on the situation in the three southern border provinces, where several incidents have occurred, that there was nothing to report.

Reporters attempted to inquire about the progress of the investigation into the assassination attempt on Mr. Kamolsak Leewamoh, a Member of Parliament from Narathiwat Province representing the Prachachart Party. When asked how he had reported the arrests of the perpetrators yesterday (April 22, 2026) to the Prime Minister, Lt. Gen. Norathip raised his hand to decline the question.

When asked if the pressure from the crowds in the area could be reduced, Lt. Gen. Norathip again declined to answer before stopping and looking for a car to leave Government House.

When asked if he felt relieved that the perpetrators had been arrested, Lt. Gen. Norathip nodded before saying, "Okay, thank you very much."

When pressed further on whether his morale had improved, Lt. Gen. Norathip turned to the reporters and gave a thumbs-up to indicate that he was in good spirits and ready to work before immediately getting into his car and leaving Government House.
