“Shinawatra Family” visits “Thaksin”, Ahead of May 11 parole countdown

Today (April 23, 2026) at 8:56 AM, at Klong Prem Central Prison, the Shinawatra family, led by Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Mr. Panthongtae Shinawatra, and Ms. Pintongta Shinawatra Kunakornwong, along with their children and grandchildren, visited former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The visit was part of the "Songkran Substitute Activity 2026: Close Family Visit, Sharing Love on Thai New Year."

The Shinawatra family entered and spent about two hours inside. At 10:34 AM, the family left promptly. Reporters attempted to inquire of Ms. Paetongtarn about the letter-like paper she carried with her, as well as the details of the visit, but she declined to give an interview and left with her son and daughter. This was Mr. Thaksin's 57th visit in prison. He has been imprisoned for 7 months and 14 days, with only 18 days remaining until his parole begins.
