Today (27 April 2026), 3:30 PM at the Army Headquarters, Major General Winthai Suwaree, Army Spokesperson, gave an interview regarding the case of Mr. Kamolsak Leewamoh, MP for Narathiwat from the Prachachart Party, who filed an additional complaint against two soldiers in the alleged shooting. He stated that the incident likely stemmed from Mr. Leewamoh assisting villagers and may have caused conflict with security forces. Major General Suwaree said that this is a social issue, not a national security case. He added that the police are primarily responsible for the investigation but stressed that officials will not engage in conflict with anyone. He emphasized that officials never resort to such methods against those who hold differing opinions. He noted that in all government operations, whether border defense or internal security, there will inevitably be individuals with differing views, but officials operate within established frameworks. He concluded that resorting to assessments or speculation is unlikely to be a viable solution for government officials. We can see that in general society there are people who hold opinions different from government officials, but we don't need to do anything that would be described in that way.
