Today (28 April 2026) at 2:00 PM at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel in Bangkok, the Kla Tham Party's 2026 annual general meeting was conducted under the leadership of Capt. Thammanat Phromphao, MP and party leader. MPs and members all actively participated. Changes to the party's executive committee were a prominent agenda issue.
Ms. Narumon Phinyosinvat resigned on April 27th, prompting the conference to elect a new party head. Captain Thammanat was recommended for the job by Mr. Pakphum Bulpramuk, an MP for Tak province and member of the Kla Tham Party. The meeting then proceeded to vote on the new party leader, including additional executive committee positions.
The meeting appointed Mr. Attakorn Sirilatthayakorn, MP for Chachoengsao, as the party spokesperson, as well as advisors to the party leader, including Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, Ms. Paveena Hongsakul, and Pol. Gen. Prachuab Wongsook. Capt. Thammanat hailed the newly elected 21 members of the party's executive committee. After serving as the Kla Tham Party's opposition, he is now ready to lead the party in its efforts to properly aid the people. He highlighted that the Kla Tham Party runs like a family, with no masters or servants. As a result, when critical issues arise, he invites people from each region to discuss and make choices together. No single person makes the final decision.

According to Captain Thammanat, the Kla Tham Party won all 56 constituencies in the recent election. Furthermore, wherever he campaigns, the party rarely loses elections, particularly in Phayao Province, where the Kla Tham Party received the most votes.
Captain Thammanat highlighted the Kla Tham Party's commitment to functioning as an opposition party.

Despite his extended tenure in the administration, he maintains the party's working principles in assessing the performance of the government and civil officials, particularly given the current uncertain domestic and global economic climate. This will be accomplished through questioning and debate in Parliament, which will result in no-confidence motions or measures to ensure transparency in government operations in accordance with the law.

"We won't let personal problems or grudges to become criteria for our position as the opposition. We are the opposition, not the revenge party," Capt. Thammanat stated.
Finally, the changes to the party's executive committee today don't suggest changes to the party's operational procedures. He underlined the significance of working as a family, stating unequivocally that he will not fail the people and will do all in his power to earn back people's trust.
