Today (5 May 2026), 12:30 PM at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul stated after a meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Suriya Jungrungruangkit regarding measures to procure fertilizer to meet farmers' needs that Mr. Suriya was concerned about the farmers and that they must find the best way to alleviate their burden. Regarding fertilizer, there are two issues: 1. Price, and 2. Quantity. The question is whether the imported fertilizer will arrive in time for the farmers' planting season. If imports are not timely, they will determine where to increase production capacity to ensure farmers have fertilizer available in time for the planting season, not after the season has passed. The Prime Minister affirmed that the government has a duty to resolve this issue to ensure farmers have access to fertilizer, as well as to resolve all problems for the people.
