Today (May 11, 2026) at approximately 8:00 AM, the atmosphere at the Baan Chan Song La residence was filled with the excitement and joy of Red Shirt groups from all 50 Bangkok districts, who were waiting for the arrival of former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Meanwhile, our reporter interviewed Mr. Songrak Nityachit, Chairman of the Bangkok 50 Districts Red Shirt Group, regarding his feelings. Mr. Songrak stated, “The Bangkok Red Shirt groups feel very happy; we love and care for him deeply. In the view of the Red Shirts, we believe he should not have even been in there, considering everything he has done for the country.”

The reporter further asked if, now that Thaksin is out, he would like to see Thaksin take on any additional political roles. Mr. Songrak replied:

“I want him to have a very active political role because, in reality, Prime Minister Thaksin is the spiritual leader of the grassroots people—not just for the Red Shirts, but the spiritual leader for people across the entire country. Now that he is out, no matter what he does—whether becoming Prime Minister again or serving as an advisor—we want him to utilize his knowledge and capabilities. We are more than willing. I want our Red Shirt brothers and sisters to be united, to reclaim our votes, and to ensure that the Pheu Thai Party can become the government.”
