Today (May 14, 2026) at 10:00 AM at Parliament, Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, an MP from the Thai Pakdee Party, held a press conference regarding the government's issuance of an Emergency Loan Decree worth 400 billion baht. He stated that while he does not object to the 200 billion baht allocated for public remedy, he is deeply concerned about the remaining 200 billion baht intended for the "Clean Energy Transition" project.

Upon reviewing data from the past two days, Dr. Warong found that the plan covers only four main areas:

1.Installing solar rooftops for government agencies.

2.Replacing government vehicles with Electric Vehicles (EVs).

3.Installing EV charging stations at government offices.

4.Developing public skills.

Dr. Warong argued that spending in this manner is inconsistent and lacks urgency. He pointed out that Thailand’s commitment to the global community regarding Carbon Neutrality is set for 2050, or another 24 years away. He questioned why the government must rush to borrow such a massive sum to complete these tasks within a single year.

Furthermore, Dr. Warong noted that these actions appear suspicious and raise doubts about whether the project serves the interests of specific conglomerates—be it solar, EV, or charging station tycoons. He warned that this could easily lead to "kickbacks" as citizens receive almost no direct benefit from this loan, yet will be burdened with the debt in the future.

He expressed concern that the government is being dominated by capital groups, leading them to overlook Thailand's core strengths in agricultural clean energy, such as energy crops or biogas. These alternatives allow Thailand to be self-reliant, ensure benefits reach farmers directly, and can generate electricity 24 hours a day—unlike solar cells, which only operate for a few hours.

In conclusion, Dr. Warong called on the government to disclose the full details of the plan to the public to prove that this is not an attempt to seek personal gain for associates under the guise of economic stimulus and energy transition.
