Today (Oct 19, 2026) at 1:00 PM, at the People’s Party, Mr. Rangsiman Rome, Party-List MP and Deputy Leader of the People's Party, in his capacity as Chairman of the House Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights, gave an interview regarding the committee’s upcoming consideration on Oct 22 concerning the bribery allegation related to online gambling site suppression and the monitoring and control of digital asset businesses. He stated that for this meeting, Ms. Suchada Tsang Thansup, Bhumjaithai Party MP for Chaiyaphum, and her husband, Mr. Taiyang Tsang, have been invited to clarify the matter, though there has been no response yet as to whether they will attend.

Furthermore, the committee has invited several relevant agencies to join the meeting, including the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Ministry of Justice. He viewed that contacting Ms. Suchada as an MP should not be difficult, but it depends on whether she chooses to appear. Regarding the authority to invite, if it were under the Summons Act, it would require a committee resolution; however, this invitation utilizes the power of the Committee Chairman to place the matter on the meeting agenda as it is considered significant. Moreover, Ms. Suchada has consistently stated that she is ready to enter the process and called on the Law Committee to investigate the facts, so he is simply proceeding according to her expressed wish.

Mr. Rangsiman emphasized that he would like Ms. Suchada to attend and clarify, because if she does not show up, the public will raise further doubts as to whether her past calls were merely talk or if she genuinely possesses the good faith to provide information and evidence.

Mr. Rangsiman added that the majority of the committee members belong to the government side. Although he serves as the chairman, he cannot use his power to harass anyone. If there are questions, he believes that Mr. Supachai Jaismut, Bhumjaithai Party-List MP in his capacity as Second Vice Chairman of the committee, likely has the expertise to pose questions or assist in ensuring full fairness for Ms. Suchada. He reiterated that the opposition side will certainly not abuse its power to harass anyone and will proceed directly and transparently.

When asked about last week’s incident where Mr. Supachai, along with government MPs, did not attend the meeting due to disagreement with the Committee Chairman's performance, and whether there are concerns about a repeat occurrence, Mr. Rangsiman stated that it is fine and he respects the opinion of Mr. Supachai, who serves as Second Vice Chairman and previously chaired this committee. He affirmed that current practices do not differ from other eras when Mr. Supachai was chairman and he was a member, with every step carried out as it always has been. However, Mr. Supachai might feel that he put forward an agenda unfair to the government side, a criticism which he accepts. As Committee Chairman, he will perform all duties with maturity to allow the committee to move forward, despite facing friction, questions, or sarcasm.
