Today (29 October 2026) at 10:59 AM at the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters (RTARF HQ), General Nattapong Prawkaew, Chief of Staff of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, together with spokespersons from the various armed services and the Royal Thai Police, announced the outcomes of the first meeting of the Service Chiefs for the 2027 fiscal year.
General Nattapong stated that, as this was the first meeting of the fiscal year, several key issues were addressed most notably the transition of the Royal Thai Armed Forces toward becoming a modernized military capable of countering multi-dimensional threats. This encompasses six operational domains: land, air, sea, space, cyberspace, and the electromagnetic spectrum (Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations: EMSO). Furthermore, discussions covered the enhancement of joint combat capabilities, specifically in the areas of joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (Joint ISR), high-precision long-range strike capabilities, and anti-drone defense, aimed at gaining a battlefield advantage through rapid, precise, and efficient decision-making capabilities. Discussions also covered the development of shared technological infrastructure, including network-centric systems, military cloud platforms, and data centers.

General Nattapong stated that the Chief of Defence Forces, who chaired the meeting, expressed his gratitude to the armed forces and the Royal Thai Police for their collaborative efforts in disaster relief—specifically regarding the flooding in Bangkok and its surrounding areas. The armed forces worked together, contributing both personnel and equipment, which ensured the situation was resolved successfully. Furthermore, the Chief of Defence Forces emphasized the need for all branches of the military to intensify their readiness in countering threats such as narcotics and scam syndicates. This will be carried out through the “Center for Coordinating the Prevention and Resolution of Threats Affecting Security along Border Areas with Neighboring Countries,” which is scheduled to hold a meeting tomorrow (30 October 2026) to discuss the specific details.
General Nattapong added that the Chief of Defence Forces also urged all branches of the military to place the utmost importance on protecting, upholding, and honoring the monarchy and all members of the Royal Family—particularly in relation to the royal ceremonies scheduled to take place in the near future, such as the royal cremation ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and the royal cremation ceremony for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati Kromluang Rajanagarindra Siribajra Mahavajrarajadhida.
