Today (2 November 2026) at 12:50 PM at Nong Khai Hospital, Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Nong Khai District, Nong Khai Province, Mr. Phonphee Suwanchawee, Deputy Minister of Interior, disclosed regarding the land dispute in Nakhon Nayok Province involving the husband of Boom-Panadda Wongphudi. He specified that the encroached land portion is a military zone and Treasury Department property under the care of the Ministry of Finance, which authorized the Ministry of Defence to utilize the land. Therefore, the authorities with the power to file a complaint and initiate legal action are either the Ministry of Defence or the Ministry of Finance. However, regarding rumors that a C8-level official under the Ministry of Interior was involved, the Permanent Secretary for Interior has already appointed a fact-finding committee, while the provincial governor has also formed an investigating committee for subdistrict and village chiefs who might be involved.
Regarding the foundation issue, Mr. Phonphee stated that he had discussed with the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration to order a detailed audit, covering sources of funds, tax filings, and various revenues. The Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration will present the findings to him tomorrow. If wrongdoing is found, action will be taken according to the law, particularly in cases where foundation funds were used contrary to their intended purpose or transferred to private entities and then routed back. The money trails shown in the media depend on how Ms. Boom Panadda will clarify them, with clear details expected tomorrow, reaffirming that any wrongdoing will be processed accordingly.
When asked about the Ministry of Interior's authority if funds were indeed used inappropriately, Mr. Phonphee indicated that measures to revoke the foundation's registration are already in place. As for the authority to prosecute legal cases, the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration is currently reviewing legal provisions. He emphasized that the Ministry of Interior is not remaining idle, as there are other foundations and organizations accepting public donations where transparency must be prioritized. In its role as the regulating agency for foundation registrations, the Ministry of Interior will conduct random checks on activities and anomalies across various foundations, taking immediate action according to procedures whenever irregularities are identified.
