Today (4 November 2026), Lieutenant General Chakrit Ujaratana, Commander of the 4th Army Area, in his capacity as Director of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward Command, signed an order appointing a spokesperson team for the 2027 fiscal year. This initiative aims to enhance the unit’s communication efforts, ensuring they are unified, accurate, prompt, and transparent. The team will serve as a primary mechanism for clarifying facts, addressing public inquiries, and fostering an accurate understanding of the situation in the southern border provinces. Guided by sincerity and a sense of responsibility, the team’s work is intended to lay the foundation for sustainable peace.

This appointment comes at a time when information is disseminated through a wide variety of channels, ranging from accurate reports to inaccurate data and deliberate distortions, which can lead to public misunderstanding or suspicion toward government officials. Consequently, ISOC Region 4 Forward Command is placing a strong emphasis on fact-based communication to build mutual understanding and trust between the state and the public—a crucial factor in advancing the peace-building process in the region. The spokesperson team for the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) Region 4 Forward Command consists of Major General Chalermchai Sutthinual, Deputy Director of ISOC Region 4 Forward Command (2), serving as the spokesperson; Colonel Ekwarit Chopchupol, Head of the Public Relations Center of ISOC Region 4 Forward Command, serving as the first deputy spokesperson; and Colonel Pongpol Sutthibenjakul, Deputy Head of the Public Relations Center of ISOC Region 4 Forward Command, serving as the second deputy spokesperson. The assistant spokespersons are Major Bandit Khieodam and Mr. Muhammad Bukhari Wangoh.

The spokesperson team serves as the official representative for conducting press briefings, giving interviews, and clarifying facts to both domestic and international media. The assistant spokespersons provide support by translating and drafting statements into English and Malay, taking into account the social and cultural contexts of the target audiences to ensure that information reaches the public accurately and appropriately, especially in urgent situations.

Before disseminating any information, the team verifies the facts with the relevant units. If information is incomplete, they will address only the points that can be confirmed, with further updates provided as more details become available. This process prioritizes the safety of officials and the public, the rights of those involved, and the protection of official state secrets. Should any inaccurate or distorted information arise, the team will promptly investigate and issue clarifications through official channels, ensuring that the public and the media receive information that has been verified directly by the authorities. This will reduce confusion stemming from rumors and inaccurate information, while creating opportunities for the public to participate in building mutual understanding and trust, ultimately fostering sustainable peace in the southern border provinces.
