(SAP News - Sukritta Tangteerawan)On 25th September 2025, at 11:30 AM, Mr. Thanawat Srisuk, along with representatives from the group of reserve senators, submitted a letter to MP Kamolsak Lewamoh, Chairman of the House Committee on Legal Affairs, Justice, and Human Rights. The petition requested the committee to follow up and investigate the handling of the senate collusion case currently under review by the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand (OECT).

Mr. Thanawat, representing the reserve senators, submitted the letter expressing concerns about the transparency of the review process in both the senate collusion case and the Khao Kradong land case. He noted that the case had already been referred to a joint investigative panel, which includes the OECT, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), and the Office of the Attorney General, since July 17, 2025. He questioned why the OECT has yet to forward the case to the court, despite the availability of all necessary evidence, including clear forensic evidence. He further emphasized that the President of the OECT had previously stated that this case would ultimately have to be decided in court. Therefore, he questioned why the OECT is still withholding the case. Mr. Thanawat and the reserve senators want to utilize parliamentary mechanisms to ensure the cases are handled transparently and justly.

He also noted that the public has expressed concern over possible political interference, citing messages such as, “When the government changes, so does the Minister of Justice.” These messages reflect public anxiety that there may be interference in the judicial process.

Mr. Thanawat stated that the new Prime Minister, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, has an opportunity amid this crisis to ensure that both cases are processed through a legitimate, transparent, and accountable judicial system. He believes that if Mr. Anutin is able to do so, it would significantly boost his popularity in the next election.

Towards the end of his remarks, Mr. Thanawat congratulated Pol. Maj. Gen. Rutthaphon Naowarat, who has recently been appointed as the new Minister of Justice. He stated that the reserve senators plan to visit the Minister at the Ministry of Justice next week to discuss the future progress of these cases.

In response, MP Kamolsak said he would bring the petition to the committee's meeting next Wednesday (October 1, 2025), where they will consider whether to include the matter in the official agenda or how best to proceed with it.
