Ms. Paetongtarn stated that although the Pheu Thai Party has been the subject of criticism, some saying it has hit a dead end or is on the verge of extinction, she confidently dismissed such notions. She asserted that if Pheu Thai were truly on the path to extinction, it would have vanished long ago. She emphasized that Pheu Thai remains one of the most accomplished parties in terms of tangible policies, despite enduring repeated political upheavals such as military coups, party dissolutions, and the removal of six prime ministers. The party’s spirit, she said, continues to be rooted in delivering practical policies for Thai people.

She stressed the need for a constructive political environment, one that offers real hope to the people. So, she said, collaboration across all sectors, generations, and age groups is essential to drive participatory politics and effective policymaking.

To build a Thailand that fulfills everyone’s dreams, Paetongtarn said that the Pheu Thai Party must undergo a “major reform”, including a complete restructuring of the party’s internal operations to unlock the full potential of its people. She also made it clear that political direction and decision-making authority will reside with the party leader and executive committee. Others with opinions, proposals, or objections are welcome to express them openly. She affirmed, “From now on, there will be no shortcuts, only a clear path forward to strengthen unity within the party.”

The newly restructured Pheu Thai Party will include an executive committee supported by a Strategic Advisory Committee and a Political Advisory Committee. This structure is intended to consolidate the party’s intellectual and experience to create a strong internal foundation that can make quick and precise decisions. Operationally, the party will be organized into four main pillars. Consists of the Office of Parliamentary Affairs, Policy Office, Office of the Party Secretary, and Communications Office. Paetongtarn emphasized that this structure would enhance efficiency, stability, and unity in the party’s operations.

With the party reform complete, she said the next step is to reform Thailand. The party will present new policies informed by two years of governing experience. She acknowledged the challenges within the bureaucratic system, which has hindered policy implementation due to redundant procedures and systemic inefficiencies.

During her tenure as Prime Minister, she said she encountered many capable civil servants, but the system prevented them from fully utilizing their abilities. As a result, policies could not be effectively executed. The Pheu Thai Party aims to shift bureaucratic culture from a mindset of “no action, no mistake” to “do everything you can for the people.” She believes that if civil servants work wholeheartedly for the people, they will take pride in being instrumental in driving policies that improve Thai people’s lives.

She declared that Pheu Thai will reform administrative systems and enhance public sector efficiency while promoting private sector participation. She highlighted the successful model of “Private Sector Works, Civil Servants Facilitate,” citing a key example, the elevation of Thailand’s film industry to the global stage within just one year.
