Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, announced the Cabinet's approval of the   project on October 7, 2025, at the 2nd Cabinet meeting, along with Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Government Spokesperson, Mr. Woraphak Thanyawong, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Laworn Sangsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, and Mr. Payong Srivanich, Chief Executive Officer,   Krungthai Bank. This project fits in with PM Anutin Charnvirakul's government's first major policy, the "Quick Big Win" concept, which focuses on directly supporting the grassroots economy.   This effort will produce money, lower people's daily expenses, enhance purchasing power confidence and promote spending among people with limited incomes in the 4th quarter of 2025.

Short Push, Lasting Gains, Growth for all

He added this initiative differs from the previous "Half-Half" project in that the population's age limit has been raised from 18 to 16 to increase purchasing power, income and business capabilities for the younger generation.   The project will likewise work on a "half-paying" principle, with taxpayers receiving 2,400 baht and the general public receiving 2,000 baht.   This will be granted to 20 million persons who do not have state welfare cards, with 9 million of them falling outside the tax system.   Furthermore, the initiative will improve technological skills for small merchants by boosting sales skills using technology and AI, as well as upskilling and reskilling small entrepreneurs (those earning less than 1.8 million baht per year) to increase business expansion chances. This is an essential instrument for the government to keep the Thai economy afloat.   This is expected to infuse around 100 billion baht, or approximately 0.3% of GDP, into the economy through a 44 billion baht budget, which is divided into a 25 billion baht economic stimulus program for fiscal year 2026 and a 19 billion baht central budget.   It is expected to reach and help more than 20 million eligible people.
