On November 13, 2025, at 7.40 a.m., at Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul reaffirmed that the Thai military is fully prepared to respond to any developments along the Thailand-Cambodia border, reiterating the well-known phrase, “Even if you hope for peace, prepare for war.”

Anutin stated that the government has established communication channels to monitor the situation around the clock. He emphasized that Thailand has no intention of invading its neighbor, but will not tolerate any violation of national sovereignty or threats to the safety of citizens and military personnel stationed near the border.

Addressing growing public concern following reports of explosion-like sounds in the Ban Nong Chan-Ban Nong Ya Kaeo area of Sa Kaeo province on November 12, Anutin assured that the military has comprehensive strategies and protocols in place to handle all possible scenarios. He said, the government, has provided full support to the armed forces and granted them decision-making authority from the first day of his premiership to ensure swift and effective responses.

Regarding civilian protection, Anutin revealed that the government has already prepared evacuation centers and compensation funds to assist those affected in the event of escalation. “We will provide assistance based on necessity and efficiency,” he said. When asked about Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet’s post alleging that Thai troops had fired at Cambodian civilians, Anutin replied briefly, “I’ve read it, but Thailand has its own way of handling matters.”
