CCTV reported, China has ordered the execution of 11 members of the Ming family after they were convicted in September 2025 by a Zhejiang provincial court on multiple charges including intentional homicide, intentional assault, unlawful confinement, fraud, and gambling, which resulted in the deaths of fourteen Chinese citizens.

The Ming family is one of the most powerful families in the Laukkai, which is a border town between Myanmar and China, and is notorious for its involvement in cyber crime, prostitution, and drug manufacture, with over 10,000 people involved in these criminal operations. Furthermore, members of the Ming family hold crucial positions in the local government of armed organizations affiliated with Myanmar's military junta.

According to a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, China will continue to severely punish and crack down on these criminal networks and efforts to “eradicate the scourge of gambling and fraud.” Furthermore, China's Supreme Court determined that between 2015 and 2022, the Ming family earned more than 10 billion yuan (about 45 billion baht) from online fraud and gambling.
