This event goes beyond a standard Cabinet meeting; it features a showcase of local identity! The government has arranged for Cabinet members to wear shirts made from "Udon Thani Mi Khit" , a traditional patterned fabric, during the mobile Cabinet meeting in Udon Thani province, held from November 2–3. Each minister will essentially be wearing the wisdom of the Udon Thani people while carrying out their official duties. These garments are not merely beautiful; every pattern conceals stories of history, nature, and the local way of life.

A key highlight is the incorporation of the "Ban Chiang pottery" motif, a symbol of a UNESCO World Heritage cultural site blended with "lotus flower" patterns, representing both abundance and the famous "Red Lotus Sea" one of Udon Thani’s most renowned tourist attractions. The fabric, dyed with natural indigo, features a deep blue base and is woven using a four-harness technique, creating a textured, multi-dimensional, and unique "look kaew" or bead-like pattern. In essence, each shirt encapsulates both the legacy of Ban Chiang and the breathtaking beauty of the Red Lotus Sea.

This initiative is more than just a simple use of local textiles for official attire; it serves as a platform to bring grassroots wisdom out of the community and onto the national stage. "SAPM News would like to offer our encouragement to all weavers and local textile entrepreneurs. May this provide an opportunity to further develop Thai wisdom, generate income, and preserve these unique local identities for the benefit of Thai society."
