According to a report by Reuters on the 24th, a recent poll conducted by Reuters and Ipsos reveals that U.S. President Trump’s approval rating has plummeted to its lowest point since his return to the White House, driven by surging oil prices and widespread public opposition to his military actions against Iran.

The four-day poll, which concluded on the 23rd, shows that only 36% of Americans approve of Trump’s job performance, down from 40% in the Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted last week.

The report notes that public evaluation of Trump’s handling of the economy and the cost of living has deteriorated significantly following the spike in gasoline prices triggered by U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran. Only 25% of respondents approve of his management of cost-of-living issues—a topic that was a central pillar of his 2024 presidential campaign.

Furthermore, only 29% of the nation approves of his overall economic governance, marking the lowest record across both of his presidential terms. Analysts suggest that the poll indicates Trump is facing a massive wave of public backlash.

Regarding military operations, the proportion of respondents who disapprove of the U.S. strikes against Iran has risen to 61%, up from 59% last week.

This nationwide online survey gathered feedback from 1,272 American adults and has a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
