2nd Army Region Commander inspects border, orders fortification of strongholds and equipment readiness

Today (16 February 2026), Lt. Gen. Weerayut Raksilp, Commander of the 2nd Army Region, conducted an ongoing field inspection of border security units to monitor the regional security situation. During the visit, he assessed troop readiness and mandated that all operations be carried out with maximum strength, prudence, and efficiency.

Military personnel continue to maintain a strict presence across their areas of responsibility. These efforts are being coupled with the fortification of strategic bases, site development, and the comprehensive preparation of personnel, weaponry, and operational plans in all dimensions to address potential shifts in the security landscape.

Lt. Gen. Weerayut firmly asserted that national security begins with the readiness and sacrifice of every soldier. He reaffirmed that the Army will stand firm in its duty to defend Thailand’s sovereignty and maintain national peace and order.
