Today (3 March), reporters reported that on2 March, at the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Captain Thamanat Phromphao, addressed the tense situation in the Middle East that may affect Thai agricultural products. He stated that he had urgently convened a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives to discuss the situation and plan how to deal with it. He added that since the situation became tense, he had ordered preparations to be made to deal with the situation since last Friday (27 Feb). Today, he called a meeting of relevant agencies under his ministry to urgently discuss the anticipated impacts on the Thai agricultural sector, and a summary will be released later.

Captain Thammanat also addressed the issue of low prices for fragrant coconuts, emphasizing the need for a sustainable solution. He has instructed relevant agencies to take action, and previous urgent measures have been implemented to improve the distribution and pricing of coconuts. The price of coconuts has increased to approximately 5 baht per fruit, and prices are expected to improve further. Regarding the issue of low raw milk prices, which are causing hardship for dairy farmers, I have instructed the Department of Livestock Development to inspect the quality of the milk to ensure it meets standards, allowing farmers to sell their milk and earn a sustainable income.

When asked about the progress in forming the government, Captain Thamanat stated that there has been no progress on the matter; everything remains the same as what he stated in his interview last week.
