Today (4 March) at 11:55 AM, at the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT), Ms. Monporn Charoensri, Member of Parliament for Nakhon Phanom Constituency 2 of the Pheu Thai Party, arrived to receive her certificate of election as an MP. Before giving an interview, she stated that she thanked the people of Nakhon Phanom for electing her as their representative for another term. She pledged to work diligently for the people. Regarding whether the Pheu Thai Party will join the government, she said that was a matter for the party's leadership, but as a representative, she would work in her constituency, acting as their voice and a legislative body to push for important laws affecting the people's lives.

Ms. Monporn further stated that the Pheu Thai Party has not yet discussed the allocation of ministerial positions. The previous meeting was merely a review of lessons learned for both those elected and those who did not win. This week, after the certification of the party-list MPs, the Pheu Thai Party will hold a small group workshop to plan its future policies. She acknowledged that if the Pheu Thai Party received fewer MPs than expected, they would need to review their campaign promises to see if they effectively addressed the people's needs. She added that after two years in government, the party may not have been able to solve the people's problems, as reflected in the election results. Therefore, the Pheu Thai Party will need to adjust its strategic approach.

When asked about the Speaker and Deputy Speaker positions and the earlier mention of Ms. Monporn as a potential Deputy Speaker, Ms. Monporn stated that she was surprised by the inclusion of her name, as the party had not yet discussed any positions, neither ministerial nor legislative. She explained that the current situation involves the registration and certification of MPs to convene the parliamentary session. As an MP and former minister who worked in the executive branch, she pledged to do her best in any position assigned by the party, dedicating her life to solving the people's problems.

When pressed further on the allocation of ministerial quotas for the Pheu Thai Party, Ms. Monporn said the party had not discussed quotas, as the decision is the prerogative of the party's executive committee. After the ECT certifies the MPs, all MPs will return to their constituencies to work for the people and await the opening of parliament. Regarding whether Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, the Pheu Thai Party's prime ministerial candidate, would accept a position, she said there had been no discussion on this. Mr. Yotsanan is the third-ranked prime ministerial candidate, so it would be an internal party matter, and the question would have to be directed to him. Is this the minister of higher education, science, research, and innovation?
