Today (April 10, 2026), at 2:30 p.m. at the Parliament building, Senator Norraseth Prachyakorn, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Political Development, Public Participation, Human Rights, Rights, Freedoms, and Consumer Protection, invited Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, Supajee Suthamphan, and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), Yodchanan Wongswat, to receive a public policy agenda.
This event was organized by our committee in partnership with The Active Thai PBS and numerous other organizations ahead of the election. As many of you may have seen in the news, we attempted to reverse the typical policymaking process. Typically, citizens receive policy directives from the government and political parties; however, we sought to engage the public, civil society, and academics who face specific concerns to study and offer policy solutions to the executive branch.
Following a series of 12 seminars spread over 12 days, suggestions for addressing various challenges—such as environmental issues, inequality, corruption, and systemic political problems—were compiled into this book. We are honored to have Ms. Supajee and Mr. Yodchanan, representing the new government of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, receive this document. We trust that these recommendations will be useful to the government and relevant cabinet members as they administer the country.

Mr. Norraseth remarked that solving the public's problems is not the job of one person alone. He stated that they must rely on the new government to adopt public proposals. At the very least, this book serves as a symbol that the government is considering public recommendations and encouraging public participation in submitting policies to the executive branch.
Ms. Supajee thanked Mr. Norraseth for the opportunity to hear the public voice, which she believes is critical in policymaking. She stated that any decision must reflect the people's needs and that she will thoroughly review and study the text. The ideas encompass ten topics, with the majority focusing on political structure, social and environmental development, and various regulations. She noted that she and Mr. Yodchanan cannot solve every issue alone, as many topics require cooperation from various ministries and both the public and private sectors. She will forward the recommendations to the Cabinet to ensure public feedback is used to maximize benefits.

Mr. Yodchanan added that Agenda 8 specifically mentions education and human capital development. He stated that if it falls within his area of responsibility, it will serve as a vital voice for the public. When implementing policies, the ministry will evaluate whether these challenges have been addressed comprehensively. He views this as a checklist for the government and the Deputy Prime Ministers responsible for different sectors.
