“STR” protests at US Embassy, calls to end US-Iran crisis

Today (April 23, 2026), the Student and People Network for Thailand’s Reform (STR), led by Mr. Pichit Chaimongkol, demonstrated against US foreign policy in front of the US Embassy in Thailand. More than 60 police officers provided strict security during the event.

Mr. Pichit read a statement calling on the US to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, withdraw its military from Iran, and stop the war immediately. He claimed that the Thai people are heavily burdened by the current stressful crisis, which is affecting the global economy and energy supply.

He further said, as a Thai citizen affected by this crisis, he calls upon Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu to unconditionally and immediately halt the conflict between the US and Israel-Iran, as well as to end the world energy crisis.
