Today (28 April 2026) at 1:30 PM, Mr. Attakorn Sirilatthayakorn, MP for Chachoengsao and registrar of the Kla Tham party, spoke about the 2026 annual general meeting at the Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel in Bangkok. He stated that the party will undergo a complete restructuring to accommodate its growth and work in helping people in each area.
Mr. Attakorn said that looking back to the previous government, the Kla Tham party had 24 MPs, but after the last election, the number of MPs increased threefold. Therefore, a restructuring is necessary to better address the problems of the people in each region. Specifically, the party's executive committee will be reinforced with new personnel to assist in managing and overseeing at least 4-5 regions. This will ensure overall oversight and centralization of the party's policy implementation, as announced by Capt. Thamanat Phromphao, the party's chief advisor, during the election campaign.

The party also noted that, while its personnel may have historically been prejudiced to the left or right, it now aspires to create a more balanced representation throughout all regions in order to provide nationwide coverage.
The executive committee will include more than 20 members who are eager to assist. Members will not be limited to MPs or previous MPs, everyone is regarded as a party member and has the opportunity to nominate themselves.
When asked about his willingness to field candidates for the Bangkok gubernatorial and Bangkok Metropolitan Council elections, Mr. Attakorn replied that this would need to be discussed further with the incoming executive committee. A reassessment is required to evaluate whether or not to run in the Bangkok governor’s race.
However, he was unable to speak on behalf of the Bangkok governor candidates, but he was confident that if the party fielded a candidate, it would choose the best candidate. If the party does not field a candidate, a clear explanation will be given subsequently.
Regarding the controversy surrounding the selling of durian for 100 baht, Mr. Attakorn noted that he understood the drive for marketing the product, as durian is an important economic fruit that generates over 100 billion baht for the country. However, selling at that price has influenced farmers by driving Thai durian prices to a premium level, with higher pricing for premium durians. He mentioned that the Kla Tham Party had previously gathered influencers to promote longan, which helped create some demand but was not sustainable in the long run. Mr. Attakorn, who previously served as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, added, "The Kla Tham Party loves farmers and wants to support them. While such initiatives are viable, they must also take into account the farmers' perspectives, as durian can only be picked once a year." He stated.
