Today (7 May 2026), 10:40 AM at Military Air Base 2, Wing 6, Don Mueang, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul Prime Minister and Minister of Interior gave an interview regarding the petition to the Constitutional Court concerning the government's issuance of an emergency decree for borrowing. He stated that he had already signed the petition for royal assent.

When asked if a petition to the Constitutional Court would disrupt the government's work, Mr. Anutin replied that this was a matter that everyone was trying to resolve, especially alleviating the suffering of the people. He stressed that as representatives, they must love and consider the people's benefit above all else. He also addressed the issue of the Emergency Decree for borrowing. He stated that he was likely the eighth person to do so, adding that similar borrowing methods have been used repeatedly. Even the group threatening legal action borrowed the same amount. They used the slogan "Strong Thailand," while he used "Thailand Helping Thailand."

When asked if he was confident there would be no problems, Mr. Anutin said the government was fulfilling its promises to the people and acting in accordance with its statements, with honest intentions.

Furthermore, when asked if this borrowing method differed from previous ones, Mr. Anutin explained that the government was using Thai baht, not foreign currencies, and that the funds would go directly to the people, not through intermediaries. This would stimulate the economy, increase spending, and improve liquidity in the system. He emphasized the importance of this, stressing the need to oversee every expenditure to ensure maximum benefit for the people, preventing leakage, corruption, and misappropriation. Any misappropriation would go back to the people.

Regarding a contingency plan in case problems arose, Mr. Anutin replied, "No, we haven't prepared one. This is a matter of public benefit and nothing new." "When the time comes and it's necessary, and we believe it's best to proceed in the direction we want, in line with the policies we've announced, then we will proceed," Mr. Anutin said.

When asked again whether filing a petition with the court would hinder the Thai Help Thai Plus project, Mr. Anutin stated that it was unrelated because the government is fulfilling its promises and implementing all the policies it has announced with good faith.
