Today (30 October 2026) at 12:50 PM at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), addressed comments made by Mr. Sirichok Sopha, former Democrat Party MP for Songkhla, who had pointed out that Shuffle.com was the only gambling site shut down, while other large-scale gambling platforms remain operational. Mr. Chaichanok urged that any such information be submitted to the Ministry, emphasizing that they are taking full legal action against all sites for which they have evidence, so there is no need for concern.
When asked about allegations that other sites remain open because they are paying “protection money” (bribes) to political parties, Mr. Chaichanok replied that if such payments exist, it certainly wouldn't be to the Bhumjaithai Party; perhaps it involves other, larger parties.
Regarding future efforts to shut down gambling sites, Mr. Chaichanok stated that they are already taking legal action based on all available information; no special, extraordinary measures are required. The Ministry is actively blocking access channels and utilizing all information, regardless of the source, to pursue further legal action.
When further asked about the statement by Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom, a party-list MP and leader of the Thai Phakdee Party, that he would be a specific target during the no-confidence debate, Mr. Chaichanok remarked that he is not concerned, as he has acted in accordance with the law and has carried out his duties to the fullest extent.
