Today (30 October 2026) at 11:30 AM at Exhibition Halls 1–4 (G Floor) of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok, Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Minister of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), attended the opening ceremony of gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026 (Entertainment Area: B2C).
During his opening remarks, Mr. Chaichanok stated that beyond prioritizing the gaming industry, the objective for 2026 is to drive further growth and transform Thailand into a central hub for the gaming sector. He noted that this event serves as more than just a space for gaming enthusiasts; it acts as a platform connecting players, developers, entrepreneurs, and investors from around the world. It showcases the potential of the gaming industry and highlights the opportunities for Thailand to become an integral part of its expansion. He added that the success seen in previous years serves as a testament to this potential, and that we should leverage these opportunities to the greatest benefit of the Thai people and Thai businesses.

Mr. Chaichanok further remarked that, today, gaming is no longer merely a form of entertainment. This industry integrates both technology and business. Behind every single game lies the work of developers, designers, programmers, content creators, and a wide range of other professionals. Beyond generating economic value, the sector fosters digital-skill-based careers and offers Thais a platform to share their creativity and stories with the rest of the world. The key objective is not merely to grow the industry itself, but to ensure that Thai people have the opportunity to grow alongside it and fully benefit from that expansion which is why the government has stepped in to provide serious support.
Following the opening ceremony, Mr. Chaichanok added that he expects the event to evolve into an even greater hub, attracting a more diverse international presence. The number of participating investors has increased by 30% compared to last year, and the venue has been expanded. In 2025, the total value of investments generated through the event exceeded 1 billion baht; he anticipates an even higher figure for 2026, noting that all sectors involved have performed exceptionally well.
