Today (3 November 2026) at 11:15 AM at Monthathip Hall International Convention Center, Udon Thani Province, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, addressed questions regarding his performance of the song “Chai Loei” during a dinner with the Cabinet last night (November 2, 2026) at the Charoen Hotel in Udon Thani. In his rendition, he altered some lyrics to “70 is just right”—a detail some interpreted as a signal that the Kla Tham Party would not be joining the government coalition.
Mr. Anutin explained that during mobile Cabinet meetings, members stay overnight and dine together; the goal is simply to foster a relaxed, informal atmosphere. He stressed that reports suggesting conflict, intense bargaining, or ultimatums among coalition partners are entirely unfounded; the parties are working together effectively.
Mr. Anutin remarked that he considers himself very fortunate to have a capable and knowledgeable partner like the Pheu Thai Party in this two-party coalition government. He noted that in their current day-to-day operations, no one claims credit exclusively for the Bhumjaithai Party or the Pheu Thai Party; rather, it is consistently acknowledged without any prior coordination or scripting that this is the work of a coalition government. It is a shared understanding among all Cabinet members that this is not a government belonging to the Pheu Thai Party, the Bhumjaithai Party, or any single entity; rather, it is a government of the people—one that has received a mandate from the public to administer the country.
Mr. Anutin added that the atmosphere during their meetings was lighthearted, characterized by genuine friendship. Opportunities for the entire Cabinet to gather like this are rare, occurring only during mobile Cabinet meetings, which typically take place every two to three months. These occasions serve as an “icebreaker,” helping to foster familiarity and strengthen relationships. He emphasized, “There is nothing more to it than that.”

When asked about his confidence regarding the upcoming no-confidence motion, Mr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI), noted that the country is currently at a critical economic juncture—one that is trending in a positive direction. He stressed the importance of clearly communicating the government’s stability, highlighting the performance of individual ministries, the work of civil servants, long-term budgetary planning, and how the country is perceived internationally—noting, for instance, the recent, well-executed hosting of the IMF–World Bank meetings, which brought great honor to Thailand.
Mr. Yoschanan explained that the current visit to Udon Thani Province centers on the International Horticultural Exposition and long-term development projects for the Northeastern region. Therefore, maintaining a unified direction ensuring the government completes its full four-year term is absolutely essential, especially when considering the broader national context regarding the nation’s progress and the introduction of a “New Growth Engine”—a topic discussed in today’s Cabinet meeting.
When asked whether the current two-party coalition’s harmonious and unified state implies that there is no need to bring in additional parties, Mr. Anutin stated that the most critical requirement for any government is stability—stability that can be leveraged to drive policies and initiatives that benefit the people and the nation. The government remains open to any mechanism that facilitates these outcomes, provided that such steps are rooted in a mutual understanding among all parties. These efforts are not intended to serve the interests of any single individual, nor are they aimed at securing the Prime Minister’s position—a matter that is, quite frankly, already well beyond that point. The objective, pursued through the collective cooperation of the entire Cabinet and the coalition partners, is singular: the well-being of the nation, the maintenance of peace and tranquility, national prosperity, and an improved quality of life for the people.
