(SAP NEWS – Ratcha Piyathammadhaj) September 23, 2025, at 3:43 p.m., Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke to reporters after a Bhumjaithai Party meeting, addressing the border situation. He stated that managing the borders is fully the responsibility of the military, and he cannot issue additional directives until after the government's policy statement is released. He emphasized that current efforts are limited to planning and coordination.
When asked about concerns over a potential repeat of conflicts, Anutin stated that he remains constantly vigilant and has prepared measures to protect citizens in the event of clashes. He also urged local MPs to coordinate closely to ensure public safety.
Regarding political relations with Pheu Thai, Anutin described the relationship as not merely strained but “broken,” making cooperation more difficult in the next election. He stressed that political competition should be based on performance and integrity, rather than using state mechanisms or political smearing against opponents.
Anutin added that he has forgiven former associates who have become political rivals and reaffirmed that his focus is on building public trust and delivering results for the people, without seeking revenge or exploiting political power against competitors.
On potential collaborations for the next election, Anutin said discussions are premature. His priority remains governing the country effectively and delivering tangible outcomes, while coordination with other parties or any decision regarding parliamentary dissolution will depend on the circumstances following the policy statement.
