On October 1, 2025, at 3.48 p.m., Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the Royal Thai Police headquarters to deliver policy directives to senior police officials. He was welcomed by National Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kitrat Panphet and attended by more than 300 high-ranking officers.

Anutin emphasized that policing is a profession under immense pressure and public expectation. He said police must serve as a reliable force for the people and stand ready to protect the monarchy with their lives, ensuring no one violates the royal institution.

Stressing narcotics as a critical national threat, Anutin pointed the need for stronger control. He also stated to emerging crimes such as call center scams, online gambling, human trafficking, and cybercrime, noting that these challenges require internationally recognized mechanisms rather than short-term fixes, in order to prevent them from becoming long-term burdens and threats to national security.

Anutin warned that if such issues are left unchecked, they will increasingly disrupt people’s lives and place heavier burdens on the police. To address this, he pledged full government support in terms of budget, welfare, and modern technology to enhance the force’s capabilities against evolving crimes. He also underscored his decision not to appoint a Deputy Prime Minister for security affairs, saying he prefers to work directly with the police.

Before ending the meeting, Anutin urged all officers to uphold the rule of law, enforce justice fairly, and remain steadfast in their duty as guardians of peace, so that the Royal Thai Police can stand as a trusted institution for the public. Anutin later paid tribute at the King Rama IV monument before departing.
