On October 2, 2025, Mr. Atthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, Minister of Tourism and Sports, launched the urgent “Big Impact Act Fast” policy, directing the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to accelerate efforts to generate tangible short-term results. The initiative aims to revive the economy through the tourism industry, which remains a key driver of national growth, with a primary goal of attracting 2–3 million Chinese tourists over the next four months.
The policy emphasizes proactive measures through four main strategies:
1. Aggressive International Marketing: Targeting seven key markets, including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, to attract high-spending tourists. Special focus is placed on the Chinese market through ongoing promotional campaigns and strengthened national-level relations.
2. Travel Safe, Worry Free: Enhancing safety measures and building tourist confidence by providing a 24-hour emergency reporting center (1155) and launching the Thailand Tourist Police app. The app supports eight languages and includes emergency reporting, information inquiries, and an SOS button linked to emergency centers nationwide.
3. Smart Safety, Smart Tourism: Utilizing modern technology to support safety, such as AI-powered facial recognition systems linked to the National Police database to monitor high-risk individuals. Additionally, safe zones at major tourist sites across the country are being promoted to reassure visitors.
4. Thailand Together: Promoting collaboration across all sectors to prepare for international travelers, especially during the 33rd SEA Games in December, coinciding with peak tourist season. TAT plans to publicize the sporting event alongside key tourist attractions and encourages Thai citizens to warmly welcome visitors.

Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of TAT, confirmed the organization’s full commitment to implementing the policy. The aim is to maintain Thailand’s status as a “Top of Mind Destination” under the new slogan, “Amazing Thailand - Where Every Journey Creates Impact,” emphasizing a balance between economic benefits and sustainable development.
