On 3rd October 2025, at 08:39 AM, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul delivered a keynote speech titled “A Call for Adaptation: The Sustainability in Trade & Industry” at the Sustainability Expo 2025 (SX 2025).
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of “sustainability” amidst a period of time filled with uncertainties from war, economic competition, trade protectionism, geopolitical tensions, and climate volatility.
Prime Minister Anutin stated that “sustainable development” is an ideal that must be both envisioned and implemented. He acknowledged that the current government’s “Quick Win” approach may not align perfectly with long-term sustainability goals but reaffirmed the administration's commitment to laying the foundation for sustainable development in future governments.
He stressed that “sustainability is not a choice, but a necessity”, pointing out that Thailand is currently facing numerous challenges ranging from international conflicts, economic instability, geopolitical pressures, and climate change.
To guide Thailand toward effective sustainability, Anutin outlined three core principles: Economic Stability, Social Security, and Environmental Sustainability. He emphasized that achieving these goals requires adaptation, which will create opportunities for both the Thai economy and the livelihoods of its people.

On economic stability, he explained that Thailand must adapt to global shifts in trade, including economic and technological competition, in a world increasingly governed by “green economy” standards. To remain competitive, Thailand must raise its standards, such as integrating clean energy into production processes.
Social security involves ensuring a good quality of life for Thai citizens through healthcare, access to basic rights like education, and opportunities to work and earn income. This, he said, will enable both people and the country to develop sustainably, hand in hand.
The third principle, environmental sustainability, was exemplified by the “Community Solar Project”, a program he initiated while serving as Minister of the Interior in a previous government. The current administration plans to continue promoting this project to both generate income for communities and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
In his speech, he also stated about trade and investment, Anutin emphasized that “Thailand must not be just a transit point.” The government is ready to implement various measures to incentivize foreign investment.
He also expressed his support for investors and entrepreneurs, while ensuring fair competition through proper regulations, allowing the Thai economy to grow efficiently.

In closing, Prime Minister Anutin stated, “Our country does have a future. We may face political standstills at times, but if people love and unite with one another, politics can serve all Thais effectively. If citizens reject conflict, politics will not be able to divide society.”
He called on all Thai people to place their trust in the current government, which is committed to supporting everyone across all dimensions, economic, social, and environmental, on the path toward sustainability.
