Mr. Suriya opened the event by stating, “As the election director for the Pheu Thai Party, I’ve previously announced that our party aims to win 200 seats in the upcoming election. After already introducing 183 prospective candidates, today we are introducing 22 more. Each of these individuals has been carefully selected, and I am confident that today’s announcement will be positively received by the public.”

He further claims that all candidates will be tasked with visiting communities, engaging with citizens, and promoting the party’s policies. This outreach aims to demonstrate that if the Pheu Thai Party forms the next government, it will be ready to respond effectively to the people's needs.

Mr. Suriya also commented on “the recent wave of MPs switching parties”, stating that while the leader of another political party has claimed that party-switching is normal and sometimes driven by political trends, this time the situation is unusual because substantial offers have been made to Pheu Thai MPs. He acknowledged that some MPs may be tempted, but emphasized that many still have confidence in the Pheu Thai Party due to feedback from voters who have said, “If you switch parties, we definitely won’t vote for you.”

He criticized the practice of using money to lure MPs, saying, “Politics that relies on buying MPs is truly regrettable. History has shown us that many politicians who left our party have failed in various ways.”
