Five Key Areas of Cooperation
1.
Agricultural Exports
Anutin expressed appreciation for China’s continued support of bilateral trade, particularly its importation of Thai rice. He emphasized that this cooperation promotes trade balance and benefits Thai farmers through stable income. Ambassador Zhang reaffirmed that China values high-quality agricultural imports from Thailand, especially rice and fruits, and pledged to work with relevant Chinese agencies to ensure more tangible progress in agricultural trade.
2. Infrastructure and Logistics
Both sides agreed that the Thailand-China-Laos transportation network is crucial to strengthening regional economic integration within the Mekong subregion. Anutin underscored Thailand’s focus on developing infrastructure to boost connectivity with neighboring countries. Ambassador Zhang added that the initiative would serve as the “economic lifeline” of the region, enhancing logistics, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
3. Modern Industries
Anutin affirmed that Thailand is ready to advance concrete cooperation with China in modern industrial sectors within this year, focusing on digital economy, green economy, new energy, and electric vehicles (EVs). The Ambassador confirmed China’s readiness to support Thailand in developing these future-oriented industries to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly economic growth.
4. Security and Combating Transnational Crime
Anitin raised concerns over transnational crimes and online scams affecting the region, emphasizing that Thailand stands ready to collaborate closely with China to combat these threats through proactive and coordinated measures. Ambassador Zhang agreed and expressed China’s readiness to enhance security cooperation with Thailand to jointly suppress such illicit activities effectively.
5. Regional Cooperation
Both parties acknowledged the importance of maintaining stability and sustainable development in the Mekong subregion. Thailand is set to host the 5th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Summit in December 2025, with the goal of producing tangible outcomes that drive economic development and cross-border connectivity among participating nations.
The Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) is a regional cooperation framework comprising six member countries: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, and China. It was initiated by Thailand in 2012 with the aim of promoting sustainable development, reducing inequality among countries in the Mekong River Basin, and supporting the balanced advancement of ASEAN’s development process. The MLC framework was officially established during the first Mekong-Lancang Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in November 2015.
The operation of the MLC is overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which organizes the Leaders’ Meeting every two years and the Foreign Ministers’ Meeting annually, to strengthen dialogue, cooperation, and development among the member states.

Thai-Cambodian Border Situation
Anutin reaffirmed that Thailand prioritizes sovereignty and the safety of its border communities, emphasizing that the government will continue to work within the ASEAN framework to promote understanding and maintain peace and order along the border. Thailand remains committed to peaceful means and will act in accordance with international law.
Ambassador Zhang reiterated that China maintains a neutral stance on the Thai-Cambodian border issue, supporting peaceful dialogue through existing mechanisms to ensure regional stability and peace.
