On October 22, 2025, the Thai government issued a stern warning to both citizens and participating merchants in the “Khon La Khrueng Plus” co-payment scheme to strictly comply with program regulations after an increasing number of fraudulent activities were detected.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Ayarin Phanrit announced that actions such as selling one’s subsidy rights or using the scheme without an actual purchase are considered criminal offenses under Sections 341 and 342 of the Criminal Code for fraud, carrying penalties of up to three years in prison, a fine of up to 60,000 baht (), or both.

In addition to criminal charges, offenders will be barred from joining future government subsidy programs and will be required to return the misused funds. The government emphasized that fraudulent behavior undermines transparency and deprives eligible citizens of their rightful benefits.

Meanwhile, in the latest update, registration for the third “Khon La Khrueng Plus” supplementary round opened on the morning of October 22, with 980 slots available (some reports citing 908). Registration through the Paotang application was filled within just minutes after launch, with the system announcing full capacity by 6.00 a.m.

The government has also expanded spending options by officially integrating food delivery services into the scheme. Participants can now use their co-payment balance via G-Wallet directly within partner delivery apps without switching applications, a move aimed at increasing convenience and extending access to urban workers and individuals unable to shop in person.

Another issue that drew public attention was the difference in co-payment amounts, where some recipients received 2,000 baht instead of 2,400 baht. Lavorn Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary for Finance, explained that the discrepancy stemmed from late tax filings. Only individuals who submitted their personal income tax forms (P.N.D. 90, 91, or 95) by June 30, 2025 were eligible for the full 2,400 baht benefit. According to the Revenue Department, more than 130,000 people were affected.

Launched under Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, the “Khon La Khrueng Plus” program aims to ease living costs amid an economic slowdown. The subsidy can be used for essential goods, educational supplies, and agricultural materials at participating stores, including Blue Flag shops and local retailers approved by the Ministry of Commerce.

Beneficiaries can start using their co-payment from October 29 to December 31, 2025. Further details are available at www.คนละครึ่งพลัส.com or via the 24-hour call center (0 2111 1122) and the Fiscal Policy Office hotline (08-5842-7102 to 08-5842-7109) during business hours.
