Today (Jan 27) 9:40 AM at Government House, Justice Minister Ruttapol Naowarat addressed the progress of the investigation into over 10 individuals, including current and former parliamentary candidates and their political networks, implicated in online gambling and scamming activities. He stated that arrest warrants have been issued for Mr. Pathanun Chandorn or Ney , also known as Members of the Provincial Administrative Organization Council and his wife, who fled the country on January 20, 2026. Another S.J. member has also fled, but his name cannot yet be disclosed. He added that the entire network involved will be investigated, and a major investigation is currently underway to gather evidence and proceed against the entire network.
When asked about the connection to any political party, Justice Minister Ruttapol declined to comment.
Regarding the 10 individuals mentioned, Pol. Gen. Ruttapol stated that the investigation is ongoing and more are being sought. He explained that he cannot disclose names until there is sufficient evidence to warrant an arrest warrant. Concerning the case of Mr. Pathanun Chandorn, or "S.J. Nay," he reiterated his earlier statement that he did not want certain issues to become politically motivated. He explained that they had previously searched his house in Kalasin Province, but the initial search warrant was insufficient due to insufficient evidence, thus preventing an arrest warrant. He emphasized the need to be fair to him and avoid politicizing the matter.
Regarding the inability to disclose names, Pol. Gen. Ruttapol explained that it's a matter of information; while they have evidence, they cannot issue arrest warrants to avoid potential lawsuits. He added that any further individuals are under investigation.
