Today (20 March) 3:10 PM at the Bhumjaithai Party, Pol. Gen. Ruttapol Naowarat, Minister of Justice, gave an interview regarding the case of Mr. Weerasak Wangsupakitkosol, former Deputy Minister of Transport, appearing before the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to acknowledge charges of encroachment on land used for livestock grazing in Hat Suan Ya, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. He stated that he did not know the details; the DSI summoned them.
Reporters then asked about the case of Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitkosol, a list MP and deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party, requesting a postponement of acknowledging charges. Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttapol stated that he was unaware of the details.
When asked whether the DSI had initially informed the minister of justice about the matter, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttapol said that they had not, as it was a matter concerning the case, and the DSI would handle it itself.
When pressed further on whether Mr. Weerasak viewed it as a political issue, Pol. Lt. Gen. Ruttapol said that it was unlikely, as it was a case already being handled by the DSI.
