Today (24 March) 1:30 PM at Government House, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul gave an interview regarding the absence of Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uwanno, who is in charge of legal affairs, from the new cabinet list. Mr. Anutin responded "How did you know?"
When asked if he had spoken with Mr. Bowornsak, Mr. Anutin said, "I've spoken with him as a colleague. There's nothing more to it. Cabinets are for terms; it's just that this term and the next term have the same prime minister, but they are separate cabinets. It's not like one person will automatically continue in the next position. There's nothing complicated about it."
Mr. Anutin further stated, "The decision to submit the cabinet list to His Majesty the King follows a process where the Prime Minister, as the person making the decision, must consider all aspects. There's no such thing as one cabinet being transferred to the next. It's never happened before. They are separate cabinets."
When asked about the change from Mr. Bowornsak to Mr. Pakorn Nilphan, Secretary-General of the Council of State, to oversee the legal matters, Mr. Anutin did not directly answer. "Just like Mr. Bowornsak saw, right?" Mr. Anutin said, "Going now," before getting into his car and leaving Government House.
