Today (24 March) 4:25 PM at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters, Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai, MP for Ubon Ratchathani and spokesperson for the Bhumjaithai Party, announced after the party meeting that, regarding parliamentary work, they have been informed that on 25 March there will be a discussion to determine the framework or term of the House of Representatives. Based on inquiries from several political parties, an urgent motion will be submitted to discuss the oil price issue. The Bhumjaithai Party will also submit an urgent motion on this matter, and its MPs will participate in the debate.

Ms. Nan added that today, the Bhumjaithai Party received a letter from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, presumably addressed to all political parties, inquiring about opinions regarding the discussion among members of parliament about providing meals for all MPs. This matter has been discussed before, specifically by Mr. Asaphol Santraiphop, MP for Sisaket, from the Bhumjaithai Party, during the previous parliamentary session. Today, the Bhumjaithai Party raised this issue for discussion and resolved to confirm that the party will handle its own meals during parliamentary sessions. We have no objection to this and are prepared to manage our own expenses. In the past, the Bhumjaithai Party has never had this problem, as most members consistently bring their own food. Regarding the reduction in the number of parliamentary assistants and the cutting of pensions for former Members of Parliament, this was not discussed in the meeting.

When asked whether any advice was given to MPs who will be appointed as ministers in the meeting, Ms. Nan stated that this was not discussed; the discussions focused solely on parliamentary work. Furthermore, the meeting did not discuss the timeline for the new government.
